Chiayi warns of fraud in lantern festival impersonator ads

Chiayi county is warning the public to be vigilant against scammers, as they
say that someone has been using the title "2026 Taiwan Lantern Festival" to
trick people into sharing their personal information.

The scammers are apparently using the title of the event to impersonate
organizers and and ask victims to fill out a form with their personal info.

The local government is emphasizing that they only use official websites to
to communicate with the public...

at the address 2026taiwanlanternfestival.org.

They point out that they will not use personal social media accounts to post
information.
