Sarkozy releases prison diaries

France's former president Nicolas Sarkozy received a hero's welcome from
hundreds of supporters as he unveiled a book about his 20-day prison
experience.

The 70-year-old signed copies of his 216-page "Diary of a Prisoner" at a
bookstore in the French capital's chic 16th district.

Hundreds of people stood in a long to greet the former president and get his
autograph.

The book has plenty of color about what it was like in the isolation wing of
a French jail.

Sarkozy had a 12 square metre cell, equipped with a bed, desk, fridge, shower
and television.

And although there was a window, the view was blocked by a massive plastic
panel placed outside.
