Nine Indicted in Zuoying Station Killing; Suspects Still on the Run

Kaohsiung prosecutors have wrapped up their investigation into the fatal shooting at Zuoying Rail Station, indicting nine people on charges including murder and organized crime.
Seven of the indicted suspects have been detained, while four fugitives remain at-large.
The indictment stems from the killing of a wanted man in August.
Investigators say the attack was planned by a ringleader surnamed Fan, who allegedly assigned a gunman, Yang, to carry out the shooting.
Police traced 13 vehicles, 17 handoff points, and a network of about 30 people involved in planning, surveillance, getaway support, and arranging escape routes.
Both the ringleader and gunman fled immediately after the crime — Fan boarding a flight overseas, and Yang disguising himself before being smuggled out of Taiwan by boat.
Police believe they may now be in Cambodia or elsewhere in Southeast Asia.
Authorities say the shooting may have been linked to a drug dispute.
