Kaohsiung Adds New Left-Turn Lanes After Road Upgrades

Kaohsiung has finished major resurfacing work on Zhonghua 5th Road and
Chenggong 2nd Road.

The city's Public Works Bureau says the project improved almost 29-thousand
square meters of roadway.

Lane markings were also updated to add new dedicated left-turn lanes to ease
congestion.

Officials say the two roads are key routes linking the Asia New Bay Area with
the city center and serve major commercial and industrial zones.

They say growing traffic had worn down the pavement and outdated designs no
longer met demand.

The city hopes the upgrades will improve intersection flow and boost overall
driving safety.
