Terminal 3's north concourse trial run

Passengers have praised Taoyuan International Airport’s Terminal 3 North
Concourse, which began trial run today.

It served three flights and 968 passengers this morning, and Airport
Corporation chair Yang Wei-fu (楊偉甫) said the 8 boarding gates of the
Concourse will be all included in the trial operations.

He said the facility, designed by renowned architect Richard Rogers, features
bright colors and big open spaces.

A bi-directional moving walkway helps shorten walking time, and the layout of
arrival and departure levels also differs from the existing concourses.

Yang said he expects to see the concourse officially open by the end of the
year, boosting Taoyuan International Airport’s annual passenger-handling
capacity by 5.8 million.

Construction work for the main building of Terminal 3 and the South Concourse
are scheduled to complete by the end of 2027.
