KMT Chair Warns Against Raising Tensions in the Taiwan Strait

Meanwhile,

KMT Chair Cheng Li-wen says Taiwan should focus on stabilizing peace in the
Taiwan Strait, not fueling tensions.

Her comments came a day after President Lai Ching-te warned that China is
attempting to pressure Taiwan through military intimidation and could try to
force unification.

Cheng said the president's remarks suggest that armed conflict across the
Strait is becoming more likely.

She emphasized that foreign representatives she's met have all expressed
concern about rising tensions.

Cheng urged President Lai to "think twice" and avoid what she called
dangerous, irresponsible actions that could escalate the situation.
