Premie Chuo: Cabinet to release details of draft bill if there's consensus

The Executive and Legislative Yuan remain at loggerheads over their different versions of the draft amendments to the Allocation of Government Revenues and Expenditures.
Premier Chuo Rong-tai said today the Cabinet will return the draft passed by the Legislature on the 14th, which corrected some of the errors in the first edition passed in December last year.
Chuo described the legislature’s version as "full of contradictions and totally unfeasible," adding that it has left 34.5 billion NT in centrally-funded tax revenues unable to be distributed.
The Premier once again urged the opposition lawmakers to consider the Cabinet's version of the draft, saying if the Legislature can come to a consensus, he will provide detailed fiscal calculations for the local governments.
That’s the information KMT mayors, including Lu Xiu-yan and Hou Yo-yi, had been demanding, saying that without it they wouldn’t know whether to support the Cabinet’s version.
That draft has yet to make it into the Legislative Committee for its first review.
Meanwhile the DPP legislative caucus is calling on the opposition parties to give the Executive Yuan a chance to explain its version of the draft bill.
