LY passes third reading re: referendums x elections

The Legislative Yuan has passed a third reading of amendments to the
Referendum Act.

Since 2021, referendums have not been held at the same times as general
elections.

But the Legislative Yuan's amendments will mean that referendum votes must be
held within 3 to 6 months of their petitions' certifications...

and they stipulate that they must be held at the same time as a general
election, if there is one within that time period.

The Legislative Yuan today dealt with the referendum draft amendment put
forward by KMT lawmakers Yan Qiong Ying, Lai Shi Bao , and Xu Yu Zhen along
with the TPP caucus.
