Taipei Invests in Carbon-Neutral Education for Schools

Taipei is set to invest more than five million NT annually to promote carbon-neutral education across its schools ... in the initial phase.
The city's Department of Education says 150 events have already been held this year, including workshops, teacher training, and outreach programs, helping schools learn how to reduce emissions.
Officials say forty-seven schools are already drafting their own plans to become carbon neutral ... with another sixty expected to join next year.
Each school will receive annual funding of 50 thousand NT to cover staff and curriculum-related expenses.
The program is set to expand city-wide in 2027.
Officials say schools must first complete a carbon inventory, then plan strategies for reducing emissions.
