Police in Indian-controlled Kashmir say a cache of confiscated explosives has detonated inside a police station in Srinagar, leaving at least eight people dead and 27 others injured.
Police said the overnight blast occurred when a team of forensic experts and police were examining explosive material.
Police were inspecting the material as part of their investigation into a deadly car explosion in New Delhi on Monday that killed at least eight people.
The Srinigar blast ripped through the police station and set the compound and multiple vehicles on fire. ============ Most of the dead were police and forensic officials. Some of the injured were in critical condition.
