HSR Oct Passenger Volume Hits New High

The Taiwan High Speed Rail saw a record number of passengers last month.

The THSR reported today that total passenger volume for October hit 7.35
million people, surpassing the previous record set in August of this year.

The average daily ridership for the month was 237-thousand people.

The high volume was attributed to the Mid-Autumn, National Day, and
Retrocession Day long weekends.

Ridership specifically during the holiday periods reached daily averages of
over 260-thousand people.

To manage the high demand, the THSR implemented several measures, including
adding non-reserved trains during peak hours as needed, and expanding the
allocation of early bird discounts on non-peak travel days.
