Taiwan Fertilizer Corporation elected Zhang Cang-lang as chair

The Taiwan Fertilizer Corporation's board members have elected Zhang
Cang-lang (張滄郎) as its new chairman, contrary to earlier reports that Wu
Yin-ning (吳音寧) would take the post.

Wu was appointed as one of the state-run enterprise’s board members by the
Agriculture Ministry last week, which immediately sparked widespread rumors
that she was on her way to becoming chair.


The reports drew strong backlash from the opposition KMT and TPP, who said
she's not qualified for the job.

But the company announced last night that the Ministry had appointed Zhang as
a board member, and elected him as chair today.
