Landslides on Yangmingshan

Parts of Taipei's Yangmingshan have been hit with landslides and fallen trees
today.

That's after days of continuous heavy rain, having accumulated well over 1
meter of rainfall over the past three days.

The affected areas include Yangmingshan's Qingshan road, as well as section 3
of Yangde 仰德 boulevard and the Shidong 士東 east road.

Officials are currently working to clear the blockages.

Meanwhile, 43 people have been evacuated in the city's Wenshan district due
to a landslide that occurred last night on Jing-hua street.

And in Hsinchu, authorities undertook evacuation efforts in the county's
Jian-shi township last night.

However, 5 households have refused to evacuate.

Officials are undertaking efforts to reduce the risk of more landslides...

but heavy rain is forecast to continue at least through tomorrow.
