Audrey Tang honored for advancing the social use of digital technology

Former digital minister Audrey Tang has been honored at the annual Right
Livelihood Awards.

Tang received the award for using digital technology to empower citizens and
advance democracy.

The Stockholm-based Right Livelihood Foundation saidTang won the award for
"advancing the social use of digital technology to empower citizens, renew
democracy and heal divides."

The annual Right Livelihood Award honors efforts that the prize founder,
Swedish-German philanthropist Jakob von Uexkull, believes were ignored by the
Nobel Prizes.

The Right Livelihood Foundation considered 159 nominees from 67 countries
this year.
