Chunghwa Post resumes some small parcel services to US

Chunghwa Post has resumed shipments of small parcels containing noncommercial gifts or books valued at under 100 U-S dollars to the United States.
The office said it has resumed the shipments in accordance with U-S government executive orders and guidance from the Universal Postal Union's International Bureau ...
... which has confirmed that such shipments are exempt from U-S customs duties.
However, Chunghwa Post says parcels which U-S customs officers judge to be valued at over 100 dollars... or might contain items other than noncommercial gifts or books can still be seized, destroyed or returned.
Chunghwa Post halted shipments to the U-S of all express mail service packages, international parcel posts, ePackets, international registered small packages, and international ordinary small packages on August 26.
... it was a response to the U-S government's announcement that the so-called "Duty-Free de minimis Treatment" would expire on August 29.
The policy originally exempted customs duties on items mailed to the U-S valued at 800 dollars or below.
