Taichung City Councilors have been raising concerns over the 340,000 tons of garbage, and say that the city government has provided inconsistent figures regarding the capacity of the landfill.
DPP City Councilors say that the government needs to add additional groundwater monitors and install air quality sensors in schools near the landfull.
Mayor Lu says that the incinerator upgrade contract has been sucessfully awarded, and that the size of the "trash mountain" will get smaller.
