Fu Kun-qi: Executive Yuan should allocate budget as mandated by law

The KMT legislative caucus whip Fu Kun-qi is urging the Executive Yuan to fully allocate the funds within a week for military pay raises and increased pensions for police and firefighters.
The Legislative Yuan passed the special act for those increases early this year, but the Cabinet didn't add the funds needed to its budget plan later on.
Fu said today that the Cabinet must act in accordance with the law, and as a token of maintaining harmony between the KMT and the ruling DPP, his party is willing to withdraw the motion of blocking the 2026 central government's budget bill.
He stressed that the KMT caucus will still ask that Legislative Speaker Han Guo-yu bring Premier Chuo Rong-tai and opposition leaders to the negotiating table so that they can reach a consensus on the budget issues.
Fu also criticized the central government for still withholding the general subsidies to all local governments, saying it shows disrespect for the Legislative Yuan.
