Taipei prosecutors are saying that they will not appeal a second ruling by the Taipei District Court granting former Taipei Mayor Ke Wen Zhe bail.
That comes after Ke and another defendant in the Core Pacific City case, KMT City Councilor Ying Xiao Wei, were released on bail following a ruling by the Taipei court weeks ago.
Prosecutors originally appealed that ruling, and the Taiwan High Court overturned Ke's 70 million NT bail...
returning the case to the lower court for reconsideration, saying that the Taipei court had been inconsistent in its rulings.
Ultimately, in its second consideration, the Taipei court made the same decision, and prosecutors today say that they will not appeal that decision.
That means, Ke and Ying can remain out on bail while their case is still on trial.
