Turkish authorities detain 13 in "corruption" investigation

Now turning to international news...

In Turkiye, authorities have detained 13 people in a corruption
investigation, including former government employees...

but critics say that the actions are politically motivated by the government
of President Erdogan.

Authorities say thatthe investigation involves concerts organized by the
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, with suspects including former municipal
employees and private event company owners.

The investigation focuses on 32 concerts held between 2021 and 2024, which
allegedly led to financial losses amounting to about 3.7 million USD.

Municipalities led by the opposition Republican People's Party have faced
several corruption probes this year.

They say, these actions are politically motivated by the government of
President Erdogan...

but the government insists the operations are legitimate.
