Hualien roads that were fixes last week washed away again

Two dirt roads in Hualien that were repaired just last week have been washed
away again by heavy rains from Super Typhoon Ragasa.

Yuli's Gaoliao and Fuli's Luntian崙天 roads near the Xiuguluan 秀姑巒 river
were just opened to traffic again last week, but local officials say they
will strive to get the roads fixed again as quickly as possible.

Yuli officials say that the Gaoliao road being washed away again will impact
travelers going to the Provicinal Highway 9 and Number 193 County Road.

They emphasize that they had preemptively closed the road last night,
preventing injuries, but the road is critical for farmers.

Hualien has been hit with heavy rain today, with the county's Xiulin getting
nearly 325 milimeters of rain since midnight.
