Kaohsiung health officials have confirmed three new imported dengue fever cases, with no new local infections reported.
The cases involve a Taiwanese traveler recently returned from Vietnam, and two Filipino nationals — one a tourist, the other a local factory worker.
All three are now hospitalized, and disinfection measures have been carried out at their homes and workplaces.
The city’s Department of Health says Southeast Asia’s dengue outbreak remains severe, noting Taiwan has seen 171 imported cases so far this year, including 21 in Kaohsiung .... with an increase of seven in this month alone.
Travelers with symptoms such as fever, headache, or muscle pain are urged to notify airport quarantine staff and cooperate with testing.
