The Central Weather Administration says three tropical depressions may strengthen into tropical storms soon.
Forecasters say the storms, which would be named Mitag, Kalmaegi, and Neoguri could form as early as later this afternoon through tonight.
The CWA says the depression that would become Mitag is not expected to affect Taiwan directly, but its outer bands may bring showers to eastern and southern regions today and tomorrow.
And the adminsitration says after becoming a tropical storm, Kalmaeg is expected to approach the seas southeast of Taiwan and the Bashi Channel next week, and could then strengthen into a typhoon.
It is expected to be closest to Taiwan on September 23rd, and may bring rough weather the following two days.
