Hao Long bin downplays presidential run

Former Taipei Mayor Hao Lung Bin says, he will not run for president in 2028,
even if he is elected as KMT chair next month.

Candidates for the new KMT Chair only have until the end of the day tomorrow
to register.

KMT lawmaker Luo Zhi Qiang and former lawmaker Zheng Li Wen have both
officially registered.

Hao went to the party headquarters accompanied by media personality Zhao Shao
Kang to register today, although Zhao himself will not run.

Hao said that his only goal as party chair would be to win the 2026 and 2028
elections.

The former mayor also pledged to deepen cooperation with the TPP if elected.

Meanwhile, Zhao said he would not run because of conflicts of interest with
his Broadcasting Corporation of China.

Zhao encouraged his supporters to vote for Hao.
