Mercury hits 39°C in New Taipei's Wugu for Second Consecutive Day

Wugu District in New Taipei hit 39.2 degrees Celsius today, marking Taiwan’s
highest temperature for the second straight day.

The Central Weather Administration data also showed that nearby Sanxia
reached 37.8 degrees, while Neihu in Taipei recorded 37 degrees.

Other areas, including Taoyuan, Changhua, and Taitung, saw highs above 36
degrees.

Meterologist Wu De-rong had said forecasting models indicate the hot weather
is expected to continue for at least two more weeks.

Taiwan’s record high temperature remains at 40.2 degrees, set in Taitung in
2004.
