D-P-P legislative chief convener Ker Chien-ming has dismissed calls for him to step down after the last of seven recall votes targetting K-M-T lawmakers failed to pass this weekend.
Ker was one of the most vocal supporters of the recalls... he had even claimed he would seek the post of legislative speaker when they were successful.
Ker's refusal to step down comes after D-P-P legislative caucus whip Wu Szu-yao and caucus secretary-general Chen Pei-yu both said they will now step down from their posts to take responsibility for the failed recalls.
Wu had taken to social media to say the ruling team must reflect internally and implement tangible changes that meet public expectations after failing to remove any of the 31 K-M-T lawmakers targeted in the two-stage recall votes,
Wu also said the D-P-P legislative caucus needs to expand participation, restructure its team, improve internal coordination, and strengthen external communication.
D-P-P Deputy caucus secretary-generals Lin Yueh-chin and Kuo Yu-ching also made similar announcements over their plans to step down.
