Man who spied on Falun Gong for CCP sentence finalized
Posted on 2025-08-22 16:07:14
The Supreme Court has uphold the one year two month prinson sentence for a
man who tried to spy on Falun Gong followers for China's State Security
Ministry.

The verdict is final after multiple appeals.

According to investigations, Xue Zhen Chun (薛禎純), a businessman that often
traveled across the Taiwan Strait, met two Chinese State Security officials
responsible for intelligence work in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau in 2014.

They instructed him to gather information about Falun Gong practicioners
going into and out of Taiwan.

Xue tried to solicit the info from a Taiwanese government official, who
declined his request.

Even so, a lower court had ruled that people entering and leaving Taiwan is
classified information and should never be revealed to Chinese authorities,
adding that Xue violated the National Security Act.

The Supreme Court upheld this view.
