8/23 referendum vote eligiblity check

The Ministry of the Interior is urging voters to confirm their eligibility
ahead of a referendum vote on nuclear power later this month.

They say, voters can check the MOI's Department of Household Registration
website to check their registration status, and they can apply to the office
quickly to correct any errors.

Voters can use their ID number and date of birth to look up the information.

The August 23rd vote will deal with whether or not to restart the number 3
nuclear power plant.

The ministry says, any citizen over 18 years old who has lived in Taiwan for
at least 6 months can vote in the referendum.

Also scheduled for that date are recall votes against 7 KMT legislators.
