Boris Johnson makes first visit to Taiwan for security forum

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed former U-K Prime Minister Boris Johnson to Taiwan.
It's Johnson's first visit to the island.
He's in Taipei to give a keynote speech alongside former Canadian Defense Minister Jason Kenney at this week's Ketagalan Forum-Indo-Pacific Security Dialogue... which is jointly hosted by the foreign ministry and the Prospect Foundation and opens today.
The foreign ministry says Johnson will also meet with President Lai Ching-te, former president Tsai Ing-wen and senior security officials.
Johnson's visit to Taipei is a part of his broader trip to Asia that also includes a stop in China.
The Prospect Foundation says this week's dialogue will bring together 12 political leaders, scholars, and experts from 10 countries, including the United States, Japan, and countries in Europe and the Indo-Pacific region.
The focus of of the event will be on regional security, whole-of-society defense resilience, and economic resilience.
