The DPP's Taipei office has dispatched 50 volunteers to help with recovery efforts in Chiayi, following damage caused by Typhoon Danas and days of heavy rain.
Officials say the team also brought 500 servings of food to support residents still working to rebuild their homes.
According to the DPP, Typhoon Danas, along with severe wind and rainfall that followed, caused significant damage in parts of Chiayi and Tainan—particularly in Chiayi’s Shuishang District, or Shuishang.
The volunteer group—made up of party members and community volunteers—will remain in Shuishang for five days to assist with ongoing recovery work.
Local leadership will be directing the volunteers to help out as needed.

Meanwhile, authorities in Chiayi County have mobilized all 18 township health centers to patrol flood-hit neighborhoods and promote disease prevention.
Residents cleaning homes are urged to "remove, clean, disinfect" using diluted bleach, and boil all drinking water.
Officials warn of infections like dengue fever—avoid contact with stagnant water, wear protective gear, and seek medical help if symptoms appear.
