The Cabinet has nominated four new people to serve as commissioners of the National Communications Commission.
The nominations all need legislative approval.
Jiang Rong-xian, who is a professor at National Cheng Kung University's Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, has been named to serve as the commission's new chief.
While Cheng Ming-xiu, who is a law professor at Soochow University specializing in regulatory theory and information rights, has been nominated to serve a vice chairperson.
The other two nominees are Huang Wei-wei, a teacher at the National Chengchi University and Luo Hui-wen, who works at the Shih Hsin University.
Both of those two nominees have similar expertise in the field of communications.
The Cabinet says the government hopes lawmaker can review the nominations as soon as possible in order to ensure the N-C-C's smooth operations.
