CGA slams Chinese coast guard 'harassment' off Kinmen

The Coast Guard Administration has condemned China for sending coastguard ships into Taiwan-controlled waters off Kinmen for two consecutive days - describing the actions as "harassment."
The Coast Guard said the intrusions began at 3PM on Tuesday when four China Coast Guard vessels sailed into "restricted waters" off Kinmen, approaching east-southeast of Liaoluo Bay.
The same four Chinese vessels then entered the same area at 9AM yesterday - when they turned off their automatic identification systems in an apparent attempt to evade pursuit.
The Coast Guard Administration says it deployed four patrol boats to shadow the intruding ships on both occasions and broadcast radio warnings, demanding that the Chinese vessels leave the area.
Both incursions lasted for two hours.
The Coast Guard Administration says it will continue to maintain a high level of surveillance, response, and deployment capabilities to monitor and track the movements of Chinese Coast Guard vessels.
