Two men have reportedly found a message in a bottle coming from a Taiwanese
fishing boat missing for over four years.

The bottle was discovered in a tidal pool on an island off the coast of
Ireland.

The note, written in Indonesian, read, quote, "Help us! We have been missing
since December 20. There are three of us here. We don't know the name of this
island. We are injured. HELP HELLO SOS."

It was signed "Lee" and "Yong Yu Sing 18" (永裕興18號), the name of the lost
boat.

The Yong Yu Sing 18 disappeared near Hawaii in late December 2020.

Its ten crew members, including a Taiwanese captain surnamed Lee and nine
Indonesian sailors, were never found.

The empty boat was later discovered drifting and returned to Taiwan.

The Suao Fishermen's Association is asking the government to check if the
message is authentic and to coordinate with international organizations to
assist in the search.

Prosecutors in 2021 found no sign of a crime onboard and believed the crew
was lost due to bad weather.
