NT$10,000 Cash Payout Approved in New Special Bill

Lawmakers have passed a special bill that gives $10-thousand NT to every
Taiwan national.

The $545 billion NT budget was pushed through by the KMT.

The law is meant to strengthen the economy and national security in response
to U.S. tariffs.

It does not include funding for Taipower, even though that was part of the
original plan.

The bill stipulates that the cash payout must be completed by October 31st.

The government says more details about how to get the money will come soon.
