CEC releases cost details of the upcoming nuclear referendum and recall

The Central Election Commission says the costs of the 26 recall elections targeting K-M-T lawmakers and the national referendum on restarting the Maanshan nuclear power plant could cost 1.62 billion N-T.
According to the commission, the cost of each recall vote ranges from between 16 million and 20-million, while the cost of the referendum is likely to hit 1.1-billion N-T.
Recall motions against 24 K-M-T lawmakers and currently-suspended Taiwan People's Party Hsinchu City Mayor Kao Hung-an will be taking place on July 26.
A recall vote against a D-P-P Nantou County Councilor will take place on July 13.
While recall votes against two Nantou County K-M-T lawmakers are set for August 23.
The referendum on restarting the nuclear power plant will be held in tandem with the August 23 recall votes.
The Central Election Commission says the costs of recall elections against city and county mayors and councilors are covered by local governments.
