Taiwan Stock Trading Accounts Hit New High Despite Market Volatility

The number of trading accounts on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, or (TWSE)
reached a record 13.48 million at the end of June, rising by 32 thousand from
May.

This comes despite market uncertainty over U-S tariff threats.

The TWSE reported an increase of 264 thousand new accounts since the end of
2024.

The strongest growth came from investors aged 61 and over, who opened more
than 225 thousand accounts in the first half of 2025, making up nearly 30
percent of all accounts.
