President Lai Ching-te has disclosed his assets in the latest issue of the Control Yuan's Property-Declaration by Public Servants, the first time since taking office.
It shows that he owns one plot of land and one building in Tainan City, with total savings of $11 million 254-thousand NT, that's an increase of some $9 million compared to his previous declaration in November, 2023.
The President also has a mortgage of $12,460,000, and holds U.S. Treasury bonds worth around $12 million NT.
Meanwhile Foreign Minister Lin Jia-long declared ownership of three plots of land and seven buildings across greater Taipei , Taichung and Tainan as of November 1, 2024.
He has significantly more savings and investments than Lai, with $118 million in total savings and $267 million NT in securities.
National Security Council Secretary-general Joseph Wu owned three plots of land and three buildings in Zhang-hua city, and 12 million NT as well.
