Cross-strait invasion unlikely as many nations watching: U.S. general

A top U-S general says the likelihood of China invading Taiwan without resistance is "very, very small", due to constant surveillance and strong international cooperation in the region.
General Ronald Clark, head of the U-S Army Pacific Command, recently explained that a cross-strait invasion would require China's forces to cross a 130-kilometer stretch of ocean under the watchful eyes of multiple countries.
He emphasized that the Taiwan Strait is under constant observation and that the U-S and its allies are working to make any invasion attempt by China more difficult through military preparedness and regional partnerships.
The U-S, along with countries like Japan, the U-K, France, and Canada, conducts regular freedom of navigation operations in the Taiwan Strait.
Most recently, the British Royal Navy's H-M-S Spey sailed through the strait on June 18th.
