Dapeng Bay Marine Festival to Calculate Carbon Footprint

The Tourism Adminsitration has completed its first carbon footpring
calculation for a sailing race, aiming to reduce emissions annually.

The "2025 Dapeng Bay Marine Festival" was held in April this year, and is nwo
the first aquatic sports event in Taiwan to conduct a carbon footprint
assessment.

The administration says the two-day event's total carbon emissions were just
over 1-thousand-900 kilograms of carbon dioxide, averaging 7.6-kilograms per
participant.

Officials say the assessment was conducted under international standards, and
covered aspects including raw materials used for supplies, venue set up, and
on-site electricity.
