And,
Taipei's Fire Department is warning electric vehicle owners about fire risks, after recording 49 EV-related fires over the past seven years.
Electric bicycles made up 60 percent of those cases.
The department is urging the public to take extra precautions with lithium battery charging.
The most important advice: don't overcharge—and stop immediately if you notice warning signs like battery swelling or overheating.
Officials also advise using only dedicated charging equipment—no adapters or extension cords—and avoiding any pulling, squeezing, or dragging of cables to prevent damage.
Charging should be done away from open flames, with no flammable items nearby, and always in a designated parking area.
The Fire Department says awareness is key to preventing serious accidents.
