Bad Weather Disrupts Matsu Flights

Poor weather briefly disrupted air travel at Matsu’s Nangan (南竿) and
Beigan (北竿) airports this morning.

The Civil Aeronautics Administration says flights were suspended from 6:30 to
8 a.m. as a tropical depression approaches Taiwan.

In total, two flights were affected.

The Central Weather Administration reports unstable weather conditions across
the island today.

The south and east are seeing short showers and thunderstorms, with Hualien
and Taitung facing heavier and more persistent rain.

There is also a chance of torrential rain in Taitung.

Central and northern areas are mostly cloudy, with scattered afternoon storms
and possible heavy rain.

Flight operations at Matsu have now returned to normal.
