Taiwan Featured Guest of Honor at Seoul Book Fair

Taiwan will be the Guest of Honor at this year’s Seoul International Book
Fair, opening on next week.

Culture Minister Lee Yung (李遠) said Taiwan is building a strong literary
presence to show the world its unique emotional voice.

The Taiwan Pavilion will highlight themes like literature, food, travel, and
history, featuring over 550 books from more than 85 publishers.

The theme is “Taiwanese Sensibility,” which Lee says reflects the island’s
rich, resilient culture.

A 23-person team of authors, illustrators, filmmakers, and musicians will
take part.

More than 60 events are planned, including music performances, author talks,
and cultural panels with Korean and Taiwanese creators.

Officials say this is just the start of long-term cultural partnerships
between Taiwan and South Korea in publishing, film, and gaming.
