And finally,
Daniel Tsai and Richard Tsai - the brothers who run Fubon Financial Holding - top Forbes' list of Taiwan's 50 richest people for 2025.
The magazine says Taiwan's economy grew 4.6-per cent in 2024, its fastest pace in three years, driven by strong performance in the semiconductor industry.
And according to Forbes, the stronger New Taiwan dollar pushed the combined wealth of Taiwan's 50 richest up 13-per cent, from 174-billion U-S dollars to 197-billion dollars.
The Tsai brothers, with a net worth of 13.9-billion U-S dollars, returned to the top spot after a one-year gap with a 3.2-billion dollar increase.
Last year's top listee, Quanta founder and chairman Barry Lam, dropped to second place despite an 8-per cent increase in his wealth, which brought his net worth to 12.6-billion U-S dollars.
Coming in third are brothers Tsai Hong-tu and Tsai Cheng-ta, who lead Cathay Financial Holdings with a net worth of 10.9-billion U-S dollars and fourth is Hon Hai founder Terry Gou with a net worth of 10.98-billion U-S dollars.
