Eight government offices, including the Presidential Office and Executive Yuan, received bomb and shooting threats by email on the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square crackdown.
The messages warned of attacks if memorial events were held.
Police traced the sender’s IP address to the U.S., likely through a proxy.
Investigations are ongoing.
DPP lawmaker Wu Si-yao (吳思瑤) says all violent threats are illegal and must be investigated.
She called the threats an attempt to silence Taiwan’s remembrance of authoritarian violence.
Wu also criticized the opposition for not speaking out against China, saying the facts of June 4th are clear and should not be ignored.
