Firefly Season Is Upon Us

Firefly Season Is Upon Us. These glowing bugs light up the night in major
scenic areas across the country from March to May each year.

Thanks to Taiwan's unique climate, the island is home to 65 varieties of
firefly - about 3% of the world's more than 2,000 varieties.

In the north, these spectacular insects can be seen at Yangming Shan National
Park or Taoyuan's Dongyanshan Forest Recreation Area.

Meanwhile, Hualien's Da-nong-da-fu (大農大富) Forest Park and Miaoli's West
Lake Resortopia also offer excellent viewing sites.

Kaohsiung's mountainous Namasia District is another great location for
firefly viewing.

Don't miss the chance to witness these magical creatures lighting up the
night during their peak season this spring!
