The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is protesting a move by Somalia to no longer accept visitors or transit passengers with R-O-C passports.
It comes after the Somali Civil Aviation Authority announced it had ceased accepting passports issued by Taiwan authorities.
The aviation authority cited United Nations Resolution 27-58 as the reason for the move .. in order to adhere the Somali government's "one-China principle."
According to the foreign ministry, it has lodged a stern protest with Somalia for restricting the travel freedom and safety of Taiwanese nationals and that it believe Beijing was behind the Somali government's decision.
The ministry is also slamming the African country for misinterpreting U-N Resolution 2758 by creating the illusion that Taiwan belongs to the People's Republic of China.
It's unclear if Somalia's move will effect Taiwanese diplomats stationed in neighbouring Somaliland.
