Investigations into recall petition forgery continue
Posted on 2025-04-30 08:14:13
Investigations into cases of alleged use of forged signatures by organizers
of recall campaigns targeting D-P-P lawmakers are continuing.

The New Taipei District Prosecutors' Office has detained K-M-T New Taipei
City Branch Secretary-General Chen Zhen-rong and released three other K-M-T
local officials after questioning.

Prosecutors say Chen is suspected of being involved in forging signatures in
a campaign to recall D-P-P lawmakers Su Chiao-hui and Lee Kun-cheng.

The Keelung District Prosecutors' Office has released Sean Chang, the
director of the city government's Department of Civil Affairs on bail of
400,000 N-T.

He was released late last night after being questioned on Tuesday in
connection with irregularities related to recall campaigns targeting D-P-P
Keelung City Councilors Zheng Wen-ting and Zhang Zhi-hao.

Two other suspects, K-M-T Ren'ai District branch director Chang Jin-fa and
the chief petitioner in that recall campaign, Ji Wen-chuan have been detained
as part of the investigation into allegations of using signatures of dead
people on the recall petitions.
