Investigations into recall petition forgery continue

Investigations into cases of alleged use of forged signatures by organizers of recall campaigns targeting D-P-P lawmakers are continuing.
The New Taipei District Prosecutors' Office has detained K-M-T New Taipei City Branch Secretary-General Chen Zhen-rong and released three other K-M-T local officials after questioning.
Prosecutors say Chen is suspected of being involved in forging signatures in a campaign to recall D-P-P lawmakers Su Chiao-hui and Lee Kun-cheng.
The Keelung District Prosecutors' Office has released Sean Chang, the director of the city government's Department of Civil Affairs on bail of 400,000 N-T.
He was released late last night after being questioned on Tuesday in connection with irregularities related to recall campaigns targeting D-P-P Keelung City Councilors Zheng Wen-ting and Zhang Zhi-hao.
Two other suspects, K-M-T Ren'ai District branch director Chang Jin-fa and the chief petitioner in that recall campaign, Ji Wen-chuan have been detained as part of the investigation into allegations of using signatures of dead people on the recall petitions.
