New Taipei Danhai Light Rail Phase 2 Set to Begin Construction in H2

New Taipei City metro officials announced that construction on the second
phase of the Danhai Light Rail is "on track" to begin later this year.

This crucial extension has been in the works for some time, and the revised
plans have now been resubmitted to the Executive Yuan for final approval.

According to the Department of Rapid Transit Systems, preparatory work is
scheduled to start in the coming months ... which includes road upgrades and
utility relocation along Zhongzheng Road.

This will clear the way for the main light rail construction, ensuring
smoother commutes, especially once the Tamkang Bridge opens.

The route for this second phase was adjusted after discussions with local
residents, and after three and a half years and multiple revisions ... before
receiving the green light from transport authorities.
