Ko undergoes surgery for kidney stones

Former TPP leader Ko Wen-je underwent surgery this morning for kidney stone
removal at Taipei Hospital.

He arrived at the hospital at 7am for the surgery, which appears to have gone
smoothly.

Ko has been under detention in relation to the Core Pacific City case and for
political donations after being indicted on charges of bribery, profiteering,
embezzlement, and breach of trust.

He was escorted by medical staff this morning from prison to get the surgery.

His wife, Chen Pei Qi, told reporters that Ko would be staying overnight in
the hospital for observation.
