Posted on 2025-04-02 08:15:13
The National Immigration Agency has forcibly deported a Chinese national
whose family-based residence permit was revoked over social media posts
advocating China's "military unification" with Taiwan.

Xiao Wei was escorted to Taoyuan International Airport by immigration
officials after she failed to leave the country before the deadline of her
deportation order.

She was put on a flight to Guangzhou.

The woman, whose marriage to a Taiwanese citizen provided the basis for her
long-term residency in the county, reported to the National Immigration
Agency prior to being escorted her to the airport.

The agency has said the woman's residence permit was revoked after she
repeatedly advocated for China's military takeover of Taiwan on the Chinese
social media site Douyin.

The agency ordered her to leave Taiwan within a 10-day period.

However, as she refused to comply and authorities then decided to forcibly
remove her from the country.
