Taiwan International Ports Corporation has announced today that Star Cruises' Star Navigator will use Keelung Port as its home port from late March to late October this year.
The cruise is expected to make 142 port calls in Keelung, serving as a key driver of the port’s recovery post-COVID-19.
Starting in late March, Star Navigator will offer an eight-month cruise experience departing from Keelung Port, with flexible itineraries to destinations such as Kumamoto, Osaka, and Kochi in Japan, as well as Busan, South Korea.
The T-I-P-C says Taiwan’s ports will accommodate 557 international cruise ship calls this year, with a projected passenger volume of one million.
Star Navigator alone accounts for about 30% of these figures, highlighting its significant market position.
TIPC officials say they hope that Star Cruises will expand its deployment across Taiwan’s ports, allowing residents in central, southern, and eastern Taiwan to conveniently enjoy cruise travel.
